In 2007, California-based mattress manufacturer PlushBeds was established with the intention of offering high-quality, organic mattresses. The PlushBeds Natural Bliss is a latex mattress with organic, eco-friendly materials. The latex used in this mattress is derived from plants, such as the rubber tree and mimosa tree. Each latex core consists of many layers to ensure durability, and the cover is made out of 100% organic cotton. This mattress offers exceptional comfort and support.
With three mattress thicknesses (6, 8, and 10 inch) and four firmness options (Soft, Medium, Med-Firm, and Extra-Firm), the PlushBeds Natural Bliss mattress is designed to give you a good night’s sleep. There are organic cotton covers and Talalay and Dunlop latex used in all except the 6-inch mattress which is only Dunlop latex. The PlushBeds Natural Bliss is a mattress made from layers of latex foam. Its unique design allows you to adjust its firmness by rearranging the fill layers to your desired preference. The cover zips off, allowing you to turn the mattress into a plush, queen-size futon or add the included memory foam topper for extra softness.
The PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress is reviewed in-depth in this review. We’ll walk you through the construction and performance of the mattress for different types of sleepers. In addition, we will cover pricing information, order, shipping, and warranty policies.
The Natural Bliss mattress is available in four firmness levels (soft, medium, medium-firm, and firm) that can be adjusted to your individual preference. The right firmness for you will depend on your body type and preferred sleeping position.
Natural Bliss is made for sleepers who prefer the plush feel of latex. It is made from a combination of cotton and natural rubber tree sap, and a thin layer of latex on top, giving you the feel of latex without the itchy feeling that most latex mattresses have. This mattress contains zero animal products or harsh chemicals, following a formula that was established over 15 years ago by their owners: two brothers with sensitivity to ingredients in conventional mattresses.
Plushbeds Natural Bliss Mattress Review Breakdown
Organic latex mattresses are available in three thicknesses and several firmness levels: 6, 8, and 10 inches, as well as Soft, Medium, Med-Firm, and Extra-Firm. These firmness levels represent the 3 soft, 5 medium, 6 medium firm, and 8 firm options, respectively, on our 10-point firmness scale.
PlushBeds Natural Bliss mattresses are crafted from the finest, all-natural latex available. Unlike traditional mattress brands, PlushBeds does not use synthetic gel or foam when constructing their mattresses. Natural Bliss latex is made using 100% organic cotton with a plant-based fire barrier; there is no wool in the mattress at all. In addition to having no additives or chemicals used in its construction, it’s also free of polyurethane foam (which is more commonly found in low-density, low cost mattresses).
The Natural Bliss offers different comfort layers to choose from. Choose from the Plush, Medium, or Firm models based on your own preferences. Each of these options is measured by a scale of 1-5 defining firmness; Plush is the softest at 5, and Medium is a 4. The Firm option measures at a 3 out of 5 on this scale. All of them use the same cover, but the specific configuration of support and comfort layers varies by thickness and firmness.
The PlushBeds Natural Bliss has a thinner model, Luxury Firm (thicker for the same price), and a thicker model, Ultra Firm (thinner for the same price). All models use natural Dunlop latex for the support layer. The 6-inch foam base in each model provides a sturdier, more supportive feel. The Natural Bliss is made with three comfort layers: 1 inch of copper infusion memory foam, 1.5 inches of green tea infused memory foam, and 6 inches of Dunlop latex.
There is a wide range of comfort layers available in different thicknesses and firmness. The 6-inch mattress has a 6-inch Dunlop latex base for comfort. Despite not having as much contouring, this type of latex ensures that the mattress is firm and supportive.
8-inch mattresses feature a Talalay comfort layer that is 2 inches thick and 10-inch models have two Talalay comfort layers. Compared with Dunlop latex, Talalay is more resilient and springier, allowing the thicker mattresses to offer improved pressure relief and conforming.
What is PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress Made of?
PlushBeds Natural Bliss Construction

What does the PlushBeds Mattress Feel Like?
Overall, Natural Bliss mattresses isolate motion well. Couples report little motion transfer when their partners move or get out of bed, so their sleep is not disrupted.
However, the exceptions are the 6” mattresses in firm and extra firm, which transfer motion more than the softer, thicker mattresses.
Natural Bliss™ mattresses are built with comfort and performance in mind. Using a unique pressure relieving layer, these mattresses are made from the highest quality natural materials. You’ll find that each Natural Bliss™ mattress offers a different level of contouring, cradling, and pressure relief that caters to a variety of sleep preferences. All the layers are hand-stitched together for a perfect fit, with no corner cutting . Offered in three firmness levels–pillowtop, medium, and firm–so you can find what works best for your body type. The Natural Bliss™ collection also provides
Most of our testers found the Natural Bliss to sleep cooler than most memory foam beds. The Natural Bliss has a layer of open cell latex foam on top, like our Spring Air model, underneath its cover. Latex is naturally cooler than materials like memory foam, and its open-cell construction allows for more airflow so sleepers won’t overheat.
Natural Bliss has the best edge support of all the mattresses tested so far. It also has a good balance of comfort and support with medium-soft feel overall. With a 7.3 comfort rating and a 6.4 firmness rating, it is more on the soft side than the firm side of the spectrum.
Sleepers find that Natural Bliss mattresses are pretty easy to move around on. Latex offers some conforming, but the user does not have to feel as if he is sleeping “in the mattress” or as if he is “locked in”. Latex is similar to sleeping “on” a mattress.
The Natural Bliss is created from natural latex and organic materials. It also has the highest springs per inch count, which are completely encased in a layer of latex for improved comfort and durability. In addition to these benefits, the Natural Bliss line of mattresses feature PlushBeds’ The Comforter “No Bounce” Layer which is placed on top of the mattress and prevents all moving parts from making noise.
Mattresses made of latex generally have much less odor than other material mattresses such as a traditional polyfoam mattress. If you sleep on the mattress for the first few days you shouldn’t notice much in the way of strong odors.
How Comfortable Is The PlushBeds Mattress?
Plushbeds Natural Bliss – Soft
Side Sleepers
We found that Natural Bliss mattresses are most comfortable if they do not weigh more than 230 pounds. Side sleepers weighing over 230 pounds are not suited to the soft mattress because it does not provide enough support, despite its good contouring.
Back Sleepers
Those who sleep on their backs who weigh less than 130 pounds are best suited to the soft variant. The mattress conforms to the body too closely to provide the proper support that heavier back sleepers need to keep their spines straight.
Stomach Sleepers
Most stomach sleepers of all weights gave the Natural Bliss mattress low marks. While the mattress provides plenty of cushioning and contour for comfort, it did not provide enough support to keep the lower body in place.

Back Sleepers | Fair | Poor-Fair | Poor |
Stomach Sleepers | Fair | Poor | Poor |
Plushbeds Natural Bliss – Medium
Side Sleepers
The medium-firm feel is an excellent choice for side sleepers under 130 pounds, thanks to its extra contouring that provides plenty of pressure relief. In addition, individuals who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds were comfortable on every thickness, while those over 230 pounds distinctly preferred the thicker models. For heavier individuals, the extra thickness keeps the hips and shoulders from sinking too deeply.
Back Sleepers
The medium version of the PlushBeds mattress offers good support and pressure relief for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. Those who weigh 180 pounds or more should get a firmer model.
Stomach Sleepers
Medium firmness of the Natural Bliss will be best suited for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds. In addition, it will fail to support heavier stomach sleepers, leading to excessive sink.
The Natural Bliss mattress is made with plant-based foam that’s sourced from in-house grown trees.

Plushbeds Natural Bliss – Med–Firm
Side Sleepers
Though heavier side sleepers have given Natural Bliss mattress 6-inches medium firm poor ratings, thick mattresses receive positive ratings. The 8-inch and 10-inch medium firm mattresses offer plenty of cushioning, contouring, and support for those weighing more than 230 pounds. Those who weigh under 230 pounds also prefer thicker Natural Bliss mattress variants.
Back Sleepers
The 10-inch Natural Bliss mattress provides support for larger, heavier people. Back sleepers who prefer more pressure relief may find the 8-inch or 6-inch mattress too firm.
Stomach Sleepers
The Natural Bliss medium firm mattress does well with stomach sleepers under 230 pounds. However, stomach sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds report most models do not support the midsection enough, causing lower back discomfort.

Plushbeds Natural Bliss – Extra–Firm
Side Sleepers
Natural Bliss received poor ratings on average across the board from side sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds. Lighter individuals cannot sink into the latex comfort layers sufficiently, so the mattress offers little contouring. However, heavier individuals tend to give it more favorable ratings, since the firm latex provides just enough comfort and support.
Back Sleepers
Lighter sleepers might not find the extra firm latex offer enough cushioning for comfort, but sleepers generally found the extra firm supportive and comfortable for back sleeping, particularly those who weighed more than 230 pounds.
Stomach Sleepers
People of all sizes who sleep on their stomach like the extra firm mattress, as it provides plenty of support for their lower body.
